MC1296862 - Dynamics 365 Project Operations – Import projects in MPP files into existing projects

We are announcing the ability to import projects in MPP files into existing projects in Dynamics 365 Project Operations. This feature will reach general availability on May 31, 2026.

How does this affect me?
This feature allows users to directly import Microsoft Project desktop client (.mpp) files into an existing project. Key capabilities of this feature include:

Set calendar hours
Set the project manager
Set schedule mode if the import process allows override
Select the source MPP file
Select the target project
