Organizations often introduce maintenance management after equipment is already operating or acquire used assets with established age, usage, and service histories. Starting those assets at the beginning of a new maintenance plan produces irrelevant past activities and inaccurate future dates, while manually reconstructing every historical event requires significant effort.

Mid-lifecycle onboarding allows existing assets to enter a standardized maintenance program at an appropriate point, helping organizations expand maintenance coverage without treating every asset as newly commissioned.

Feature detail

Apply a reusable maintenance plan template to an existing or used asset and initialize the resulting plan using the asset's current lifecycle information. Relevant inputs can include commissioning or installation date, current meter usage, known maintenance history, and the appropriate position in a sequential maintenance program.

Advance through earlier template activities that no longer apply so the asset begins with the next relevant maintenance requirement. Preserve the context used during initialization so planners can understand how the starting position was determined.

After initialization, the asset participates in the same scheduling, forecasting, work-order generation, completion feedback, and coverage experiences as other assets using the maintenance plan.
