Double Key Encryption (DKE) provides organizations with a second encryption key for your most sensitive content. Learn more about DKE and whether it's suitable for your organization at https://learn.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/compliance/double-key-encryption.

This release adds the DKE functionality to Word, Excel, PowerPoint for Android, matching the functionality already available in Windows, iOS, and Mac.

When this will happen:

Public Preview: Available in December 2024

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD): We will begin rolling out early January 2025 and plan to complete rollout by late January 2025
