Summary

The Microsoft Lists app is introducing a drag and drop feature to reorder list items, with a rollout starting in August 2024 and completing by late October 2024. This feature will be available by default to all users. No admin action is required for the update.

Updated October 15, 2024: We have updated the timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Coming soon for the Microsoft Lists app: Users will be able to reorder List items using drag and drop.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 380183.

When this will happen:

Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out early August 2024 and expect to complete by mid-August 2024.

Standard Release: We will begin rolling out late August 2024 and expect to complete by late October 2024 (previously early October).

How this will affect your organization:

Before this rollout: Users are not able to drag and drop list items to reorder them.

After this rollout, Users will be able to drag and drop list items.

This feature is on by default and accessible to all Microsoft List app users.

What you need to do to prepare:

This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required before the rollout. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation.
