Details

We are announcing that you can now include or exclude direct report’s records by disabled status in the manager view of hierarchy security.

How does this affect me?
Starting February 23, 2024, the ability to configure whether to include or exclude a direct report’s records by disabled status in the manager view of hierarchy security will be publicly available for use in all Dataverse environments. Environments for which hierarchy security was enabled after January 31, 2024, will include the records for direct reports with a disabled status by default. For other environments, the records for a direct report in a disabled state aren’t included in the manager’s view.

You can now enable the settings to include or exclude the direct report’s records by disabled status.

What action do I need to take?
If you have environments for which hierarchy security was enabled before January 31, 2024, and you want to include records for direct reports with a disabled status in the manager view:
  1. Install the OrganizationSettingsEditor tool.
  2. Update the AuthorizationEnableHSMForDisabledUsers setting to true.
  3. Disable the Hierarchy modeling.
  4. Re-enable it again.
If you have environments that hierarchy security was enabled after January 31, 2024, and you want to exclude records for direct reports with a disabled status in the manager view:
  1. Install the OrganizationSettingsEditor tool.
  2. Update the AuthorizationEnableHSMForDisabledUsers setting to false.
  3. Disable the Hierarchy modeling.
  4. Re-enable it again.
