Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention - Enhancements to DLP capabilities on macOS endpoints

The Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention will enable you to expend some of your existing DLP policies to macOS endpoints, including Removable USB device groups/Network share groups/Printer groups, Most restrictive, and Network share coverage and exclusions.

When this will happen:

Rollout will begin in late November and is expected to be complete by late January 2024 (previously mid-December).

How this will affect your organization:

With those macOS updates,

• DLP Admins will have more granular controls through Removable USB device groups/Network share groups/Printer groups.
• Data Loss Prevention on endpoint will consolidate multiple policies and apply most restrictive policy to protect a sensitive file.
• DLP Admins will be able to protect the sensitive file stored on the network share and mapped network drives.
