Introduction
We’re introducing a new file download manager experience in Microsoft Teams to streamline file downloads and reduce on-screen interruptions. This update simplifies download notifications while still making it easy for users to find downloaded files after the download completes.

When this will happen:
- Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out in early June 2026 and expect to complete by mid-June 2026.
- General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in mid-June 2026 and expect to complete by late June 2026.

- All users downloading files in Microsoft Teams (desktop and web)
- All tenants worldwide
What will happen:
- File download notifications in Teams will automatically dismiss after approximately 4 seconds.
- Users will have an option to open or locate downloaded files after the download completes.
- The experience is enabled by default.
- Existing file permissions, storage locations, and security controls remain unchanged.
