Details
Introduction:
To improve readability and consistency across Microsoft admin tools, we’re updating Message center (MC) posts that are synchronized to Planner to support HTML formatting. This change ensures that admins see Message center content in Planner with the same rich formatting they see in Message center, making it easier to review updates, understand impact, and follow links without losing context.
When this will happen:
We will begin rolling out this change May 13, 2026.
How this affects your organization:
Who is affected:
- Microsoft 365 admins who view Message center posts that are synchronized to Planner via Planner syncing.
What will happen:
- Message center posts synchronized to Planner will display HTML formatting, including text formatting, links, and images.
- Planner will present a cleaner, more consistent view that aligns with Message center.
- The feature is on by default.
- Existing items already synced to Planner will be updated over time to display HTML formatting.
What you can do to prepare:
- No action is required.
- You may want to inform admins about the improved formatting experience.
Compliance considerations:
This change affects how existing Message center content is rendered in Planner but does not introduce new data storage, processing, or compliance controls.
