Summary
Microsoft 365 Copilot agents will be accessible from the Edge sidebar starting late September 2025. Users must pre-add agents to access them there but cannot create or add new ones via the sidebar. The feature is automatic, default-enabled, and enhances multitasking without screen switching.

Users will soon be able to access agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot from the Edge sidebar (on the right side of the screen) while using Copilot.
This message applies to Web chat and Work chat for users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license and to Copilot Chat for users with a Microsoft 365 license.

When this will happen:
General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in late September 2025 (previously late August) and expect to complete by early October 2025 (previously early September).
How this will affect your organization:
Users must first add agents to Microsoft 365 Copilot for them to be available in the Edge sidebar when using Copilot. (Learn more about adding agents: Introducing agents - Microsoft Support). Users will not be able to create, search for, or add new agents when using Copilot from the Edge sidebar at this time.
Users will be able to access their previously added agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot from the Edge sidebar while using Copilot. This rollout will help users focus on their main browser activities and access agents without switching to another screen.
This feature will be available by default.
Select Agents from the three-dot menu (...) in the top right of the Edge sidebar:
View and select an available agent:
Engage with agents on the Edge sidebar, such as the Prompt Coach:
What you need to do to prepare:
This rollout will happen automatically by the specified dates with no admin action required before the rollout. Review your current configuration to assess the impact on your organization. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation.
