More information

Updated June 12, 2025: We have updated the timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Users will have the ability to 'Stop generating' a Copilot response.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 325948

When this will happen:

Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out late May 2025 (previously early May) and expect to complete by late May 2025 (previously mid-May).

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out mid-May 2025 and expect to complete by late June 2025 (previously late May).

How this will affect your organization:

Copilot in Teams will now have a 'stop' button after sending a prompt. This will allow the user to stop Copilot's response either before the response has started to generate, or even after the response is generating. The user may then start a new prompt if they wish.

What you need to do to prepare:

You may wish to update your documentation if you have any screens showing Copilot generating a response.
