Summary
Microsoft 365 admin center Usage report will add a new metric for Microsoft Copilot with Graph-grounded chat usage, reflecting retroactively from November 27th, 2023. This will provide additional insight into Copilot for Microsoft 365 usage and inform adoption strategy decisions. The rollout will begin in early March 2024 and will likely result in an increase in the number of Active users and the Active user rate. No action is needed from users to prepare for this rollout. Visit the Microsoft 365 admin center to access the report.
Details
The Microsoft Copilot with Graph-grounded chat usage metric will be added in the Copilot for Microsoft 365 Usage report, currently in Preview. This new metric will reflect in the Usage report retroactively starting from November 27th, 2023 likely resulting in an increase in the number of Active users and the Active user rate. The Microsoft Copilot with Graph-grounded Chat metric, referred to in the report as ‘Copilot chat’, will provide additional insight into Copilot for Microsoft 365 usage and inform adoption strategy decisions for Microsoft Copilot in your organization.
Note: If you are using the Microsoft Copilot Dashboard from Viva Insights, the new metric for Microsoft Copilot with Graph-grounded chat will likely result in an increase in the ‘Total Copilot users in your company’ metric.

When this will happen:
Preview: We will begin rolling out early March 2024 and expect to complete by mid-March 2024.
We will message in the future when we have a firm date for the General Availability rollout.Â

To access the report, visit the Microsoft 365 admin center > Reports > Usage > Copilot for Microsoft 365.

No action is needed from you to prepare for this rollout. You may want to notify your admins about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.
